This post is a little different. In my about page I said I will be posting other spontaneous things I stumble into, so this is the introduction of a spontaneous project and soon to be creation. I WILL BE BUILDING A SCHOOL. Literally.

I have a passion for children. I remember when I was about 7-11 years old, I used to gather round the local children in my house and would teach them bible stories and basic mannerism. That sense of fulfillment was immersing.

I only realised how much I missed this experience when I stumbled into Childreach international Big Build project.  It was the best opportunity I had in a while to do something with helping children.

I am leading a group of other students to build a school in Tanzania. This would involve building with bricks, and painting murals whilst interacting with the kids.

It’s going to be the trip of a lifetime and I am so excited.

I made this painting to illustrate the desire for educational growth among the children of Moshi in Tanzania.

The painting is also a reminder that among the hardship (chains) that may hold us down and keep us from achieving our dreams, we should not give up, sometimes it only takes hope to keep us going, and in most situations hope is all we have.

So, in my little way through my trip I aim to bring the hope of children in Tanzania to life, one brick at a time.

In the meantime, stay strong and be hopeful 🙂
